DIVORCE 101

Anyone going through or contemplating a divorce needs an education. DIVORCE SCHOOL is taught in intensive three hour session where you will learn about intricacies of the divorce process from the filing of the Petition to the entry of Judgment. The class will cover the following topics:

How to Proceed – Mediation, Litigation, Collaborative Representation.

The First Step – Filing the Petition, Jurisdiction, Dissolution vs Legal Separation

I Need Help Now – Spousal and Child Support, Domestic Violence, Visitation, Attorney Fees

Who Gets What – Dividing assets including the residence, dividing debt, valuing businesses and professional practices, retirement accounts, personal property, the dog.

What Happens in Court – What is it like, will I have to testify, do children have to be there?

It Needs to End – How can we make them settle, how do we get ready for trial, how due we get a judgment which can be enforced.

What About My Other Problems – Financial, Health, Social, Depression.

*This class (Divorce 101) Does not take an indepth view of Child Custody Visitation. It is recommended that parties with Custody/Visitation  issues take the Child Custody Visitation Class.
